Certification = Professional
I hold a Master's degree in Teaching, a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, and enough credits for a Bachelor's degree in English (which soon will turn into an actual degree).
In addition, I am certified to teach English and mathematics from sixth grade to twelfth grade.
By virtue of having the Master's and the certificate, I can also teach education at the community college level.
In order to get the certification, I had to take an additional 17 classes on top of my Bachelor's degree, and then serve for one semester, unpaid, in a classroom while being monitored and guided by a teacher mentor.
In order to maintain my certification, I must complete 200 professional development hours every six years.
The reclassification of my chosen degree path by the Department of Education (!) is ridiculous.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!
