Hands Off Protest
Detroit, Michigan on Woodward Avenue

The Piano Instructor was there.
Our current administration seeks to silence voices, erase history, and tamp down dissenters.
These are values that are contrary to freedom of speech and song.
Musicians have long been literal voices that inspire change, advancement, growth and innovation.
To see millions across the nation echo that sentiment is incredible.
It is creativity-inducing.
It stiffens the spine and throws the shoulders back in defiance.
Wheelchairs and walkers, tricycles and motorbikes, Keds and skates and heels and steel-toed boots…everybody showed up.
It appears a great many people feel that those in power need to be reminded that they work for us, not the other way ‘round.
I wholeheartedly agree, and will walk alongside folks who want to see all of us achieve greatness in their fields of interest and to live quietly, happily, and unbothered.
Indeed, we truly demonstrated yesterday.
May our intentions continue to show up in our sustained, united actions.
