How do we deal with jealousy?
By being the most jealous jealouser a person has ever jealoused.

Scenario 1:
You learn a thing on the piano that was hella tough.
And you can play it beautifully. It’s stuff of the gods.
So you do. Often and with relish.
Friends start saying stuff like, “Do you have to play that all the time?”
You don't understand it—you worked so hard to be able to play it. Why not play it all the time?
What’s up with them?
Or…
Scenario 2:
You’re doing the best you can. Well, as well as you can with your schedule. And your kids’ schedules. And family. And work. And dealing with the pets. And the neighbours. And the yard. Gosh, when was the last time you touched your piano?
On a rare free moment, you turn on the [insert preferred mode of consuming content] and you happen upon a video or show of a former colleague.
Another pianist. Not as good as you. But pretty good.
They’re nailing it on this show, though. Pretty good, actually. Really good.
