Musical Anthologies

Musical Anthologies

I'm a fan of buying the dictionary.

Yes, all of the dictionary stuff is online. Yes, it's easy to type a word and get the definition.

Here's the problem:

You don't get the words around it when you do that.

You don't get captured by words that are not related to that word but are interesting nevertheless...because you only get the one word.

Online, you sometimes don't get the pronunciation of the word, or, if you do, you remain unaware that there may be more than one pronunciation or spelling.

It's the same with musical anthologies.

Yes, you can download the specific song you need for the moment.

But when you either buy or library-check-out the anthology, you'll see other choices, other perspectives.

You may be introduced to new music.

You may recognize a particular song and not realize that that was the title.

If you can, get the book. It's worth it.
