Teachers.

Composers.

You have really great photos. They're sitting in your phone.

I have so many of this bozo.

Heed this:

Put them someplace where you can see them.

  1. Set aside one hour. Let it be a restful hour, after everyone is in bed or early in the morning or some such.
  2. Pour your favorite libation.
  3. Get comfortable.
  4. Go through your camera roll and save your favorite photos in a separate file. You'll likely have thousands, so pick your favorite hundreds. For real. Hundreds.
  5. I did this in Canva—i just threw them into a generic slide show without any particular order, and then I added my music after adding transitions.
  6. Set up your computer's screen saver with these photos.
  7. Figure out how to set these photos as your screen saver on your television. (You might need an external drive).

Voila!

I have a bazillion photos of Carter, of The Boys, of my family, of trips I've been on, of wonderful, poignant moments. And I’m composing again so I'm writing music I'm proud of

Now, more than ever, we need this joy. And it is so, so easy to generate for ourselves.

Please do.

Add not just your original music, but also your friends’ original music who might be in the pictures, or your niece's music from that piano recital.

We teach this.
