Study

The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine was purchased years ago when I didn't have enough money to buy it.

It has traveled with me, and I have read the parts that were needed at the time.

Recently, I began going through it as a study in jazz, and have begun acquiring the albums that are referenced therein. Instead of jumping around, I'm going page by page and really absorbing the intent and the words.

When I tell you I am falling in love with music even more, please understand what that means:

I have always moved in rhythm. My mother said from the time I was born I couldn't help but pound and bang on surfaces. It has Always Been. The reason it wasn't annoying is I was always on beat.

So to go even deeper with my love with study with this book and as the needle finds the groove on the album…well, it's divine.
