There's more than one way to achieve your goals.

There's more than one way to achieve your goals.

I don't eat cereal in the morning. I'm not a morning doughnut/bagel eater either.

In fact, my diet is what most Americans would consider…unorthodox.

For example, this morning, I roasted some chicken thighs and legs stuffed with garlic cloves and covered with freshly ground black pepper and some sea salt. Lovely.

I took some pita bread, stuffed it with the tabbouli from yesterday's Al Haramain's grocery trip, then ripped off pieces of the chicken, thus slapping together a pita sandwich and shoved it in my mouth, and then downed it with some ginger tea I made from a leftover ginger root sweetened with wildflower honey.

That was breakfast. At home.

So I do not subscribe to the “You must do things a certain way to get a certain result”. There are multiple solutions to most problems, and there are multiple paths for each solution.

As it turns out, my unorthodox eating style is what has extended my life post-cancer. It has helped me fight through serious depression post -separation from my children. It has helped me build strength and physical prowess which makes me feel active and alert throughout the day.

This works for me, it harms nobody else, and I come to my solution honestly.

I try to extend this philosophy to my teaching.
