Water
The Faculty Handbook

Water--what is it, why do we need it, and where do you get it.
I mean…
This seems like a ridiculous topic to discuss when we are talking about training *checks notes * concert pianists and piano teachers, but then the statistics come in:
- Teachers are often scheduled so tightly between students that they hold their urine for several hours. This is harmful.
- Teachers are often so busy that they skip their meals until the end of the day and then shove the food in their mouths when they get home. Also not a winning strategy for optimum health.
- Teachers quite often are dehydrated in general because of the demands of the job.
When do they get to drink the water?
This is serious.
As a studio leader, you must take this into account.
The Faculty Handbook is the actual handbook of The Piano Instructor.
About 30% of the book is on the personal health of the teacher, for good reason:
All instruction begins with the teacher.
If the teacher is healthy and happy, the students have a better experience (and so does the teacher).
The Piano Instructor trains studio leaders and helps professional musicians transform into effective educators.
